WITNESS A MODERN-DAY JOAN OF ARC IN DELTA OF VENUS’ NEW VIDEO “DISENGAGED B/W SLIPPING”

No Comments Music Videos Review

Greetings dearest gentle readers and music fans. Let’s welcome incredible US artist Ellery Twinning who presents Delta of Venus to us all. On 25th March, this artist released a new song and video called “disengaged b/w slipping”. Let’s talk more about it

The song opens with a very captivating melody and the video shows shots of a train and a very nice mansion in the beginning

The long-form movie reimagines Joan of Arc’s story arc, assuming she lived past her nineteen years and spearheaded a feminine resistance movement in contemporary Mystic, Connecticut. The video then continues as our character moves to put on royal-like regalia. She puts something like a shield on her face and pulls out her sword. The next shot of her is the character sitting on a throne. The video shows a different shot of the character who is joined by another woman. We see them walking down the lane and walking around. Later we see the character doing different things like sitting behind a monitor, looking through binoculars walking around at the beach, and writing in the sand. The character plants some sort of flag at the beach. The character begins to walk by the train tracks, she goes back to the throne, back to the train station, and starts a fire. Later this character writes “I am no man” with spray paint on a white sheet by the train tracks. The video ends with different shots of the character and then finally we see her put on headphones and stare through the window

Mystic photographer Michelle Gemma wrote, directed, filmed, and styled the video. James Canty was the editor of the video. This song would not have been made without the help of Ellery Twining Delta of Venus’s music, Issy’s lyrics, Sequencer & Bass Guitar Mat Tarbox was the programmer. Shawn Fake was on drums Guitars, Twining Ellery Sang Issy Eric M. Lichter produced and recorded it at Dirt Floor in Middletown, Connecticut. The video was designed by Guido Falivene. All images and videos were taken by Michelle Gemma. Fiona, Emma, Maya, Izzy N., Nora, and Issy P. were the models in the video. The group would especially like to thank Royal Young for coming up with the idea of “Show, Don’t Tell!” and Evan Nickles, owner of the House of 1833, for kindly lending the home the video was shot in

What an original and well-executed piece!!. It was very interesting to see what Joan of Arc would have lived especially in this century. She could have a smartphone amongst many other things. Congrats to the artist and the musicians for making this masterpiece. Delta of Venus has started a revolution and I’m excited to go along for the ride!!!
