Greetings dearest gentle readers and music lovers let us welcome the band Ungoliath. Berlin, Germany-based Ungoliath emerged from the abyss in 2002 under the leadership of founder Bane, and their intriguing riffs and eerie melodies have enthralled listeners ever since. The band drew listeners into their mysterious realm of Tendalied from the beginning of their musical career with a four-song EP called “The Fourfold Descent,” which was released on February, 28.
The title track is called “Harvest of the Fallen Sun”. The song opens with a wild combination of instruments and when the sound hits you, you become aware of the sound and all its elements. The drum skills in this song are exciting, the electric guitar sounds are also very upbeat. All these elements are tied together by the vocal performance which sounds like low growling and is the added touch that this song needed. What an opener
Next is the song “Season of the Withering Flame”. The intro of the song is very fast-paced. You might think that the combination of these vibrant instrumentation may seem too loud or too much you can’t handle at once but you will hear every single sound and enjoy it as well
“Veins of the awakening earth” is the next song. This song has yet again vibrant instrumentation right from the start. The low growl in the song is very haunting but is delightful as well. This song will rock so hard when heard live!!!!
The last song on the album is “Shroud of the Eternal Night”. This song has a slower pace than the other songs and it is quite refreshing to see the band experimenting with different variations of rock music it ends this a collection of songs
With a history steeped in the black metal era of the 1990s, Ungoliath’s music is evidence of the genre’s continuing power. Even though Ungoliath is a one-man project, its music transcends conventions, producing a potent and introspective sonic environment. I’m in awe of the artist’s talent and I can’t wait to hear more of his music
