Keogea is a young musician from New York City’s thriving music scene whose brilliance is evident in his most recent Original EP, “UNEXPECTED.” The seven-song EP was released on 7th March, let’s talk about it
“You’re Crazy” is the first song on the album. The song drops a sick beat before the rap performance. The song is about a person who put in the work but people don’t see how hard they worked to get there. What can I say? This song was a bop and a great way to start the EP
Next up is “ a lot on my mind”. The song has a very cool and captivating intro. The song introduces listeners to a character who is thinking a lot about his situation and asks when it will be his time to shine (” When is it gonna be my time”). This song is very entertaining although the message is a bit of a downer it is a reality check that we all needed and it is very much appreciated
“How It Used to Be” is the next song on the album. The song has heavy country vibes right from the start. This character is very focused on winning but still admits that things have changed in his relationship. The rap flows freely and listeners will vibe with the song
“Thunder” is the next song on the EP. This song is about a character who is clearly frustrated and is telling people to get out of his face because they can’t relate to him or his life in any way at all. The song has the identical vibe as Big Sean’s “I don’t fuck with you “. The verse was crazy and the flow was unmatched
Up next is the song “Instead!”. The song opens with a popping beat. This song is a big question to anyone who has an ugly behavior. He asks why they choose that route when there is clearly a better approach to what it is they are doing. This song will resonate with a lot of listeners
Next up is “heartfelt”. The song opens with these soft electric guitar strums. The song is about a character who is trying to heartfelt starting that very much. This song had a slow vibe till the middle of the song where the beat switches up a little and gives off the beat from a different angle
The last song is called “Between”. The song gets right into the vocal performance and let me tell you, it was so thrilling. Flow? Check, crazy verses? Check. This song closes out the EP with an unforgettable punch
Keogea’s distinctive fusion of Hip-Hop/Rap, which includes elements of Trap and Emo Rap to produce a dynamic and captivating sound, is showcased in the EP. Keogea has worked closely with important collaborators including producer Menaco Beats and Moustafax2 to create a seven-track project that captures his present mood, which is one of tenacity, fortitude, and unadulterated emotion.
