TRAVEL ACROSS TIME WITH MICHAEL DONOGHUE’S NEW ALBUM “TIME TRAVEL”

No Comments News

Greetings lovely readers and music fans let’s give a warm welcome to Michael Donoghue. Michael Donoghue is a Rotherham-born, Jersey-based independent electronic artist, composing left-field electronica which draws in influences from several

genres, including ambient electro, downtempo, techno, and IDM. On 12th July Michael released an 8 track Album titled “Time Machine”, let me tell you more about this album

The album opens with the album’s namesake “Time Machine”. The intro of this song is these ethereal sounds that draw you in instantly and then the melody starts to build up on itself layer by layer. As the song builds so does the tempo which starts as a thrum and develops into a spectacular burst of energy and then it shifts again moving into a duller flow leaving a steady beat that fuses with this bell-like sound trickling down. The rest of the song includes a chiming sound that is isolated but has a beautiful array of sounds in the background till it fades completely. The song made me curious and curious and kept me on my toes with surprising twists and turns that were unexpected and exciting and it did a perfect job of opening the album

Next is the song “Pool of Reflection (Eternal Return)”. The intro of the song is soothing and beautiful. But like I said before Michael layers his music and this song is no different. The song oscillates between High and low tones. The second part of the song feels like the start of a beautiful day filled with limitless opportunities and from there so picks up the monochromatic melody but it doesn’t stop there, during these 8 minutes you hear a vast array of melodies each better than the next and it these sounds that will ease you, calm you thoroughly and give you a one of a kind musical experience

The next song is called “Floating” The song’s intro is these bright and cosmic sounds that sound like zooming in and zooming out in sound form. The title suits the song so perfectly as well and truth be told does make you feel like you’re floating or flying through the cosmos or flying through space. The song’s sound and vibe match the title of the song

“Time Yet” is the title of the next song. The song opens with very bright and beautiful tones. The song has a nice vibe and a very professional fusion of sounds. There are a lot of sounds that are brought your way but they are separate, but still somehow functioning as one and in perfect sync. What you hear when listening to this song is a feeling you can’t really put your finger on or put into words.

“April” is the title of the song that follows on the album. This song has a darkness and mystery to it. The way the song cascades from high to low notes feels like you’re watching a horror film and you know that something is going to go very wrong. Darkness aside the song has this static sound that is subtle and in the background at first but builds with the song, increasing with each note. With this song the album veers away from its lightheadedness to a more mystical path. The song creates a very unique soundscape for listeners

The next song is called” Never Do”. The song starts with a beautiful and cheery vibe. In the background behind the melody is a recording of chatter, it’s brief before the song continues. At every point during the song you find a new dimension of the song in there making sure that this musical trip was worth your time

“Wa 6102” is the title of the next song. This song takes a slower route than the rest of the song. Nevertheless, the beginning of the song was just the foundation to house or for the song’s intricate melody to be built on, from there its smooth sailing and nothing but clear skies on this one

The song that ends the album is the song “Life”. This song’s intro is slow but soon after that sound is fused with an exciting musical tone. The song pays a powerful salute to electronic music staying true to the markers of this genre of music. The song brings this fantastic album to a splendid end

This album was a true masterpiece. If you’re looking for an avant-garde and a unique fusion of sounds well look no further, however, this album manages to be a little of every genre in its own special way. This album took me on a remarkable and unforgettable journey that will not forget any time soon. Don’t just take my word for it, please give the album a listen and fall in love with it like I did. It is safe to say that Michael is a musical genius and I can’t wait to hear more from him
