No Comments News

Greetings dearest gentle reader and music lovers. Today we share the talents of UK artist Jem Doulton. Jem has released an 8-song album called “Deal of the Century”. The album was released on 12th July. Now let’s talk more about the album

The first song is titled “Deal of the Century”. The song’s intro is very dark and mystical. The song is about a good deal that has been offered to someone (” Welcome to the Deal of the Century”). The song’s lyrics literally welcome you to the album which is the namesake of the album. With this beautiful song, you are ushered into the album

Next Is the song “Svetlana”. The opening of this song is a fusion of sounds that you can’t really place your finger on. Though it might seem all over the place and random, it is not, each note is fused with the other so they are in perfect sync and make complete sense. This versatile song morphs into different sounds throughout the song making it unique and exceptionally beautiful

“Don’t suppose” is the next song. The song is a little slow. The song is a rather sad story about a character who has been in love with a particular person for a while. He knows that he is being strung along and the person he loved didn’t love him back and probably never will(” Don’t suppose you thought about my fate, I did wait hoping you’d realize that I could be the one, your special one”). The song is jazz-like due to its instrumentation and the vocal performance was just perfect

Next is the song ”At ‘em Boy”. The song has a unique intro and then the vocal performance begins. This song features a permanent drum line that is so enticing and exciting. The song’s structure will enthrall you and take you on a thrilling musical journey

“Snake oil salesman”. The song is another dark song with a dark intro. The distinguishes itself through its Italian spoken word, sultry, caustic lyrics (“I can’t take hand jobs for the rent”), and rather appealing chorus. The song is very enjoyable and the Italian spoken word with powerful guitar riffs only elevates an already elevated and magnetizing song

Next is the song “Rusting Away”. The song’s opening is very soft and slow piano sounds but the tempo of the song picks up a little later. The song has a very distinct thing. It does not talk about one theme. This song alone contains multitudes of messages. You should really look forward to the electric guitar solo mid-song it was unbelievably good and ends with a distortion of sounds before the very last piano notes are played

Next is the song “The Whip”. The song has a thumping beat right from the start. The song contains synthesizer sounds that are quite delightful as it talks about an unarmed character whipping people into shape. This song Is an avant-garde song that only people with a unique taste in music will appreciate this song for its greatness. The French was a nice touch to the song

The last song on the album is called “Into the Jetstream”. This beautiful song opens with very intricate and lovely piano sounds. Later in the song the tempo builds and builds while simultaneously delighting you and engaging all your senses. This song was very awesome and it ends the album in a grand style

The album was a very unique and eye-opening experience. The songs were top-notch and very evolved. You can tell the amount of time spent and care that was put into this record. I’m definitely a fan of Jem and I can honestly say that this took me on a journey that is completely out of this world and I will stick to these words. He is very talented and I look forward to hearing more from him
