No Comments Music

Greetings to all my most cherished readers. Today, we embark on a musical journey with artist TORRANCE. Boston, Massachusetts-born TORRANCE is a legendary solo pop singer-songwriter. He is a unique talent prepared to take the world on a crazy ride because of his catchy hooks, unique sound, and riveting live performances. His first studio album, “Galaxy of Punks”, a 12-song album, was published on 22nd November. Let us discuss this album.

The first song on the bill is “Cosmos”. The song opens with sharp synth sounds. The song is completely equal to the title. In the song, Torrance talks gleefully, about how fun it is to float around in the cosmos, defying gravity and having the time of your life. This song was so packed and energetic. It makes you want to feel free which is a very admirable quality of any song. Listeners are off to a great start with this song

Up next is the song “More than Me”. The intro of this song is simply so amazing, the rich texture of the vocals you are hit with is just perfect. This song talks about an escape, a way to live in a carefree way.)” Best ride of your life”). It also talks about coming to believe that there is something more than just what we know, there must be a higher power that is way bigger than we are. The vibes, vocals, and instrumentation of the song just ooze positivity and happiness.

“Wanderer” is the title of the next track. The song opens with a very groovy synth-pop beat. The main theme of the song is an emotionally closed-off person. This person is not ashamed to say that his guard and his walls up. (“Shield up”). The song doesn’t mention why the person is this way, it just lets listeners know that this person, is a tough cookie. The vocal performance was so crisp and the beat was so foot-tapping. I had so much fun with this song and I know that listeners will have fun too

Next on the album is the track “Get It Baby”. The intro of this song is very upbeat and captivating. In this song, we meet a character who is assuring his partner that whatever it is that is separating them or causing friction between them will be figured out together. (“We are gonna figure this out”). The vocal performance on this track was so stunning. The song was catchy and it is irresistible

“Megawatt energy” is the title of the next track on the record. The intro of this song is a very nice electric guitar sound that is so flawless. The character in the song is complimenting someone because of their charisma. Aside from the compliment, the character admits that he likes her because of her energy(“I like it”). Sometimes we just vibe with someone because of their personality and this song talks about this in great detail. This is yet another bop on the belt of this album

Up next is a tune called “Star Child”. This song opens with this very catchy melody. The song seems to be a father boosting the confidence of his child. He tells the child that he or she is the future and the best hope of survival. Finally, the father promises to the child deeply and forever(“I will love you through Space and time”). This is yet another record-breaking vocal performance and instrumentation. this song is yet another unforgettable music journey for listeners to indulge in

The next song on the album is titled “Think I’m Falling”. The song opens with a recording of an announcement preceded by a siren which is instantly captivating. The song gives listeners a picture of a character who has fallen in love so deeply that it has taken his breath away(“I can barely breathe”). The song provides a fully immersive experience, especially with the out-of-breath sounds and the warning sign sound. The vocal performance is amazing and listeners get a full and endearing picture of a person who has fallen in love

The next song is the album’s namesake “Galaxy of Punks”. The song illustrates a character who is surprised and annoyed that his wife chose Earth as a place to celebrate their anniversary. This suggests that both the character and his wife are aliens. With Torrance already feeling that he is alien at heart, this song is the perfect song for listeners to connect with him even more and enjoy this story of an alien couple on Earth as a holiday destination. Musically, this song is very catchy and foot-tapping, definitely a noteworthy song

“Space cadet (I’ll walk the moon”)” is the name of the next song. When the song starts, you are just mesmerized. The song illustrates a character who is almost always out of it, zoned out and spaced. (I am a space cadet I don’t know where I am half the time”). It is interesting to meet someone this ditzy and I applaud Torrance for giving listeners this space cadet that we will not forget anytime soon

The next song on the album is “I Don’t Care Anymore”. The guitar intro was so sick. This song is a middle finger to all our haters out there, those who always seem to find something wrong with anything and everything that we do. This is saying to them that we literally do not care about what they say about us anymore, that they have lost their power over us. The vocal performance was so beautiful and the instrumentation was very strong and outstanding. The song and the instrumentation went hand in hand like nobody’s business

“Blast off” is the next song on the list. The intro has very nice guitar strums. The song talks about a character who asks about the aspirations of someone close to him(“Tell me what you wanna do with your life”). The spaceship metaphors were a nice touch and this song was just so outstanding.

The last song on the album is “The Mothership”. This song has a nice synth sound in the beginning before the beat drops. Now, this song can be seen metaphorically or literally. Metaphorically, the mothership could be a sex metaphor meaning that the character was suggesting intimate time. Literally, it can be that our character was dating an alien and wanted to go on the alien’s mothership with her(“I’m coming with you so beam me up, baby”). Whether literally or metaphorically, the song still stayed in the vein of this alien theme. The vocal performance and the instrumentation were just uniquely good. This song was the perfect goodbye to listeners

Being “alien” at heart, TORRANCE started composing, producing, and recording his own songs in 2010 as part of his foray into the professional pop music industry in 2024. This album had songs with pop, rock, dance, and indie-pop influences, showing his incredible vocal range and humorous lyrical slogans. The album was cohesive, funny, and witty. I had so much fun with this album. Torrance is very talented and I can’t wait to hear more music from him
