Greetings dearest gentle readers and music fans let’s welcome Finish artist Doron Karavani. Singer/songwriter Doron Karavani is releasing a brand new album called “Time to Rise”. The album was released on 1st November and is an album of nine intensely personal songs. Let’s talk more about it
The album’s title track is called “Sky High”. The song opens with lovely string instruments and a light trumpet sound. In the song, the character has been rejected for not meeting the lady’s expectations and he feels like he is feeling like he’s high (“Guess I wasn’t good enough for you”). You can hear the pain in Karavani’s voice because he sounds very pained as he sings and the mouth percussion sounds with the saxophone sound in the background are so gorgeous and you will fall in love with this opening song
Next is the song “I’ll Be There”. The song opens with a nice guitar and drum beat. The character in the song is sad because his relationship has come to an end. He recognizes that life changes but he assures this person that though life isn’t static when she needs him he will be there for her(“When you need me I’ll be there”). This is a very beautiful sentiment that shows maturity as well. Musically, the song is country-infused, with an outstanding guitar solo and the vocal performance is flawlessly beautiful
Next is the song “Free Time”. The song starts with a heavy and exciting drum beat before the guitar and the vocal performance starts. The song talks about self-care and taking time for ourselves first. This is evident in other aspects of life like being on a plane in an emergency, flight attendants always tell passengers to put their masks on before they help anyone else or be able to help others. The vocals and instrumentation on the song are absolutely fabulous
“Time to rise” is the song that follows. This song also possesses country influences. The song talks about community and fostering unity (“We need to come together to live in peace, there’s no other way for you and me, it’s time to rise”). It also speaks about emancipation and fleeing from greedy people. The song is fantastic with spectacular instrumentation(a wild guitar and flute-like solo)and it will create a unique soundscape as you really take in the song’s message
Next is the song called “Look at you now. The song opens with intricate piano sounds before the guitar sound sets in. The character in the song has seemingly met he dated in the past and meets her now in the present and tries to reconcile with her now(“look at you now”). The character suggests that they reunite despite the past (“just the two of us”). Musically the vocal performance was very beautiful and that electric guitar solo??? Come on!!!! This song was definitely standing on business!!!
Up next is the song “Not Tonight”. The vocal performance wastes no time and jumps right into it with this stripped-down guitar sound. The character in the song seems to be in a certain type of rut and feels really lonely(“It makes me feel so lonely”). This character decides that just for that night he will focus on only the good things and not how bad he’s feeling (“not tonight”). The song is a ballad but has a beautiful instrumentation (“guitar solo)to go with it. This song breathes new life into the album
“Above the Earth” is the next song on the album. The song opens with a unique blend of sounds. The song is about people who are broken and can’t seem to fix it. The saxophone sounds in the sound give this song a jazz feel and vibe that washes over you over and over again and the harmonization of Karavani and the female vocal is just magical
Next up is “only love”. The song opens with soft and dreamy guitar sounds. The song talks about the necessity of love (“Only love can keep us together”). He talks about how sometimes people need just a little bit of love. The song has a very beautiful message and it will delight you and indulge your ears with a beautiful melody and sound
The album ends with “Catch me if you can”. The song has a strong guitar base which the song relies heavily on and trumpet sounds. The song is about about sometimes we try and try to have it all and the inevitability of death. The song’s instrumentation is incredibly colorful and vibrant. Wow! What a way to end the album!
This album was a brilliant one and will have incredible success. The songs were painstakingly created and the instrumentation was a total home run. The songs were cohesive and enjoyable. Karavani has solidified his musical identity and I can’t wait to hear more music from him
