TIME TO JUMP AROUND WITH THE DEAD BOTTOMLEYS NEW RECORD “SINK AND TARNISH”

No Comments News

Greetings dearest gentle readers and music enthusiasts, let’s welcome the English band The Dead bottomleys. The Dead Bottomleys, a Worthing psych/rock group, on 20th December released a seven-song album called “Sink and Tarnish” Set to songs that people jump around to in venues all around the South Coast, its sarcastic, poetic lyrics are reminiscent of I D and the Blockheads. Let’s talk more about the album

The first song on the album is called “Coal”. The song’s intro is very upbeat and exciting. The song is able to give and sustain through the song. The song talks about nonconformity. However, the guitar work on this song is to die for. By the end of the song, you will begging and screaming for joy. This fantastic song opens up the record

“Albert” is the title of the next song. This song is another upbeat song. The character in the song is a carefree person but has somehow subdued his personality for a bit. Remember what I said when I said the guitar riffs were rocking? The electric guitar solo in this one brings the previous song’s guitar riffs to its knees. It was simply Too good

Up next is “shit town”. The guitar-bass sounds at the beginning of this song are just bonkers. It’s so good you will never want it to end. The character in the song describes where he lives as a shit town, (”living in a shit town isn’t very fun”)where he doesn’t like but is just going through the motions in it. There is yet another electric guitar solo that is just so mouth-watering good

“Police State” is the title of the next song. The intro is very exciting. So being in a police town means the police have the last say in every single issue, people will be stopped and frisked the public will be under surveillance at all times and the character in the song lives in one and asks them rhetorical questions(”how do you sleep at night”). Listeners get a bass and drum solo which is incredibly delicious. This song is a statement that says the people in that place will never give up and never stop fighting for freedom

Next up is “turn it up loud”. The song opens with feedback sounds and drums. The character in the song is having friends over for a little shindig so he is turning up the music very high (” All my friends are here so let’s turn up high”). The song is very exciting and foot-tapping for listeners who want to groove to the song

“You can’t win” is the next song on the record. This song is yet another foot-tapping song. The character in the song is telling someone they can’t win so they should give it up. The guitar and Drum solos were dropping and amazing. Listeners will really get a kick out of it

The last song on the album is called “Going Backward”. The song opens with an amazing guitar melody. The song embodies the essence of musical genius. Everything about this song was perfection. This song closes the album

The Dead Bottomleys had set a goal to make their fans and listeners jump around because as a person who can’t dance too well so, I indeed jumped around, a lot, till I was out of breath. I say thank you and well done to this talented band. I can’t wait to hear more music from them
