Greetings dearest gentle readers and music fans let’s welcome Robert Bacon to our digital space. The Nashville artist released a 5 song EP called “What Christmas Means to Me” Released on 22nd November, join me to take a closer look at this EP

“Christmas dreams do come true” is the first song on the EP. The song opens with some very jolly guitar and drum intro. The character in the song is about a man who is telling his partner all the various ways she makes the holiday season extra special (” You with me is a Christmas dream true”). With a catchy instrumentation, a smooth vocal performance, and percussion you get a Christmas song to celebrate what our relationships with others make us extra jolly during the holiday season. This wonderful track is a first stop on a wonderful collection of Christmas bops

Next up is the song “Here’s to Christmastime”. This song starts with very upbeat instrumentation. This song describes a Christmas enthusiast. These are the kind of people who start decorating their homes right after Halloween (come on let the jingle bells begin”). We all know this person. Sometimes they might annoy you but you will soon give in and start to cozy up to an all-out Christmas time. Musically the adlibs “Ho, Ho, Ho.” was very clever and get ready for the piano/guitar/drum solo toward the end of the song. This song is performed so joyfully that you can’t help but be jolly too

“Holly Jolly Christmas” is the song that follows. The intro is very upbeat. The song is cheerful and catchy. Before you know you will be up on your feet dancing to this tune. Complete with cliche Christmas greetings and a wonderful vocal and phenomenal instrumentation(electric guitar solo, mouth percussion, drum )

“Christmas is better with you” is the follow-up song. The song starts with some beautiful mouth percussion. The song illustrates a character who is waiting for his lover, he asks her eta and asks her to hurry home so they can be together (” You know you’re my holiday”). Not only is this song about the true meaning of Christmas, it encourages listeners to spend time with their loved ones. The vocal performance is very beautiful and the mouth percussion and the instrumentation make this song even more awesome

“I Found Christmas” is the next song on the EP. This song is about true love, not only Christmas love (”I see the magic in your eyes when I found you, I found Christmas”). The song is a beautiful song that celebrates love and it will move you with its emotive vocal performance and instrumentation(electric guitar solo$

The last song on the EP is called “What Christmas Means to Me”. This song opens with a very smooth and country-influenced song. The song is about a character who explains how he spends his Christmas and how coming home to his family and loved ones is what Christmas means to him (” Come home to the ones you love you”). The song is very sensitive, and sentimental and will make you nostalgic about family you are not in touch with or have lost and hopefully push you to make amends. The vocal performance is so emotive and so is the instrumentation

This EP brought me to tears, I fought it but when it got to the last song I was bawling. The song just reminds listeners of the wholesome Christmas is and the importance of family around the holidays. I thank the band for this emotive EP. The songs were beautiful and sounded so heavenly. This EP is now on my Christmas playlist and I wish to share the values I’ve learned on this EP with my family. Bacon is a very talented artist, I can’t wait to hear more music from him
