Greetings dearest gentle readers a music fans across the globe, Let’s give a warm welcome to US artist Gedalya Folk Rock Rabbi. The Folk Rock Rabbi, who is well-known for his thought-provoking lyrics and soul-stirring melodies, is about to change the music industry once more with the release of his new 10-song album, “Waiting for Redemption,” released on 1st September, The artist is departing from convention in order to create anticipation right away, as opposed to his prior approach of releasing releases on a monthly basis before the release of an album. Let’s talk more about the album

The album’s title track is called “A Song Is Born”. The song starts right away with listeners hearing the artist’s strong and powerful voice that immediately captures your attention. The song seems like a personal story of the artist. In the song, he details his life, work, and how much making music and honing his craft was his escape(“using my music to help me find my place”)a sudden peace which he milked till he made a song (“get coffee and write until a song was born”). There is a lively guitar sound that complimented the artist’s voice as he sang about his story. I believe that we get a little peek into his life and whatever influenced his music. The guitar solo mid-song was a nice touch and with this song, you’re ushered into the album

“In the passenger seat” is the title of the next song. The song starts with a gun and light guitar strum. This song is about self-discovery (”I went to the East searching for salvation, only to find out that it was always there within”). It is also a song that encourages people to learn to find out what true freedom is really all about. This is a profound song about soul searching but because of the upbeat nature of the instrumentation (very incredible stringed solo)you are advised and entertained simultaneously

Next is the song “A troubled soul”. This song has a slower tempo right from the start. The song tells the story of a character who has met an old man on the train who was feeling and looking hopeless(”I saw all his pain in his face was low and his body faint”). The character then tells the old man about a lesson he had learned about focusing on living in the moment, he also tells the old man that life is unpredictable but we must persevere lest we become lost souls(” There are things you can’t control but You don’t have to be a lost soul”). The old man then thanked the character for his advice. The song is a country-infused song with fantastic instrumentation not forgetting that out-of-this-world guitar solo. After this song, your body and soul will be lifted and you be will floating on the air

“It blows my mind” is the title of the next song. The song is lively right from the start. The song describes a character who is very surprised as to why there is still hate and hateful people in this world and happy faces are hard to find. The character lists some examples of the effects of hatred and finally asks that we pray to God for redemption(”it blows my mind the human race we pray to God to save this place”). There is an outstanding guitar solo mid-song and it will leave you breathless and speechless

Next is the song “Before a moment passes”. The opening of the song is a groovy guitar riff. The theme of the song is preserving and holding onto hope that things will change. Looking at the wider message of the song is the resilience of the human spirit and holding out hope that things will get better(” There’ll be salvation but I can’t tell you when”). There is an earth shattering guitar solo mid song that will excite you through and through

“Freedom” is the title of the next song. The song opens with a capturing drum beat that is so mesmerizing. The song talks about the positive and negative effects of freedom. How freedom which is unchecked becomes a power trip(”freedom is there a rule”) and how freedom is important when it comes to kindness, change, creativity, improvement, and change amongst others. The constant steady drum beat sounds like a drumline performance and the vocal performance which sounds like spoken word later in the song was brilliant and makes the song more thrilling

“Man of Faith (Remix)” is the name of the next song. This song opens with beautiful and operatic piano sounds and right after Gedalya starts to sing. This song is about Gedalya and his faith. He talks about how hard it is to maintain his faith in this world but still, it is something that he wishes he would never lose(” It’s hard to change but the chief thing is not to lose faith”). Through this song, we peel off another layer of Gedalya and we get to know more about his beliefs and connect even more with him. The piano is the forefront instrument but a drum beat is added on later which gives it a great and delightful to listen to

Next is the song “Time Train”. The opening of the song is cheery and upbeat. In this song, Gedayla reimagines life as a train track where the end of the line means the end of life. He encourages listeners to not look back and instead focus on moving forward(”there’s never going back only moving on traveling on the time train”). Musically, the vocal performance is very flawless and the guitar solo was even more amazing this time around. This song takes you on a rollercoaster where you have a stop literally when he sings “Stop” before the rest of the journey continues

“Taking Time Out (Remix)” is the title of the next song. This song also has a slow and glacial intro. This song tells listeners to take their time and think through everything they say and do especially when it comes to hate crimes and anger. This lesson was not only for listeners because he was advising himself too (” Take time out to think it through, I’m talking to me, I’m talking to you, take time out”). The vocal performance is tender, and through this song and its lyrics you will be persuaded to do what the song is advising us to do

The last song on the album is the album’s namesake “Waiting for Redemption”. This song is upbeat and delightful right from the very first note. The song describes a persona who is unsure of himself and decides to go away for some introspection because he was seeking redemption and validation everywhere he went(”everywhere I go no matter who I know I’m waiting for redemption”). The song is upbeat, foot tapping and you feel happy with majestic instrumentation so while listening to it it will become your go-to song. The song brings this great piece of music

This album was so incredible. There was no song that I wished I had skipped because all of the songs are formidable and can stand on their own. I was pleasantly surprised and I now know why his fans were in anticipation of this album. Well, I’m sold and I’m now a fan of Gedalya from this day onwards
