Seasoning, a Brisbane-based singer-songwriter, kicked off the new year with the release of his new tune, “Friends.” On December 7, Honey Pop gave an exclusive debut of the new music, describing it as “out-of-this-world.”
“Friends” arrives on the heels of Seasoning’s debut single, which was released in early 2022. Seasoning’s newest single, in contrast to the gentler ballads featured prominently on the tune, embraces a more maximalist pop style. “Friends,” which features pounding rhythms, anthemic production, and irresistibly addictive pop hooks, marks the start of a new chapter for this young artist.
Seasoning began as the project of multi instrumentalist/songwriter/audio engineer Lachlan Buckle to flesh out demos created over time while playing and producing with other bands. With Buckle fronting the band a variety of accompaniments drifted in and out of the line up before settling on Tom (drums) Sam (Guitar) and Annie (bass).
Expanding on what inspired the track, he says: “A four minute reflection on the feeling of isolation that follows moving away from friends and family, “Friends” is a jangle-pop track that centres around the changes of going through life.
“Friends” is the first single from Seasoning’s upcoming EP “The Condensation.”
