Greetings dearest gentle readers and music fans let’s welcome SALT to our digital space The English band is made up of Robin Woods, Sharon Woods, Simon Kettles, and James King. On 27th September, the band released a song called “I Hate You All”. Let’s talk more about this song
The song starts with a burst of rockstar energy. The instrumentation is energetic, wild, and very freeing, and there and then you know this song is going to be the bomb
This song is a harrowing personal experience of one of the band’s members. The song concerns the nasty behavior they witnessed from a group of neds (hooligans or petty criminals)when they got off a train at Edinburgh’s Waverley train station. These neds targeted their transgender non-binary child. Sharon doesn’t usually sound this irate but this was her child being targeted(“I may be small but I’ll smack you”). In a world overcome with so much hate, it’s scary to be different or unique but sometimes you need to give these hate-filled people a piece of your mind hence the line “I hate you all”. I applaud Sharon for being a wonderful parent and standing up for her child
The band recorded everything themselves. Parts of it were recorded at Banana Row Studios (the drums), and the remainder in our specially designed home studio. The song is evidently the result of personal experience, passion, and intensity
“I hate you all” is not just a song it is a statement of intent and a warning to hateful people who tend to pick on children because they are bullies, closeted, and simple-minded people. These bullies must be dealt with before they cause irreversible damage to these special and different children. I applaud and love Sharon for sharing her experience in standing up for her child. This band is what the music industry and the world need. They are a powerful group and they will rise to the top
