Greetings dearest gentle readers and music fans worldwide, let’s welcome the English band Mark Vennis and different place. Mark Vennis & Different Place are: Mark Vennis on Guitar and Vocals Sean Quinn also Guitar and Vocals Dave Sweetenham on Bass and Vocals Brian Gee on Drums. The band just released a new single called “In these times”. The song was released on 4th October. Let’s talk more about it
The song opens with a burst of energy!! The electric guitar solo was just mouth-watering and fantastic. You will be at the edge of your seat just waiting to listen to the rest of the song
The song talks about an unnamed character who is facing difficulties, and thinks he is walking in the right direction but later finds out he or she has been going in circles, and he or she realizes that he or she is in this maze and in this fog, he had been in is because of the times that he or she is in(“I thought I’d be okay, I thought I’d turned a corner”). The song talks about how sometimes we work really hard to improve our lives but can’t because of where and when we find ourselves (“It sure ain’t a crime in these times”). I applaud the band for sharing this message of hope
With a reggae-inspired bass rumble by Dave Sweetenham and scorching guitars especially the electric guitar and bass guitar sounds by Mark Vennis and Sean Quinn,” In This Time” draws from and builds upon the band’s diverse rock and roll influences. It was released by Laundry Records and was produced and recorded by Mark at Laundry Studios.
This song is A New Course for Different Place & by Mark Vennis. Punk rock roots are still present, but the song has a richer sound, lots of melody, and a lot to say about the status of the country. The message of the song was eye-opening and it is my hope that through this song we can come together and build a better future, even if we don’t live long enough to see it, it will be a better place for the future generation. This band is very talented and their song is very inspiring. I can’t wait to hear more music from them
