Greetings my avid readers and music lovers. Today we welcome US artist Nate Bradshaw. Dive into the chaotic brilliance of Tagonist, an experimental indie rock album brimming with raw energy, thought-provoking lyrics, and unapologetic creativity. Released on 18th January, This new 12-song project from Nate Bradshaw explores themes of absurdity, identity, capitalism, and meaning, blending aggression and vulnerability into a sound that’s equal parts intoxicating and profound. Let’s talk more about it.
The first song is called “title sequence”. This song is a fusion of sharp and deep melodies that carries you into an all together wonderful music experience together and paves the way so beautifully
Next up is “They got me tired”. The song goes straight into the vocal performance. The song is about a character who is unhappy about his life and his way of life which got him fed up. The song is very beautiful and is sonically pleasing
“The funniest joke” is the next song. The song opens with an upbeat guitar and drum beat. The character feels that life keeps kicking him down whenever he gets up. This character laughs ironically because he thinks he’s the butt of a joke. The song exposes the harsh reality of life.
“Your love” is the title of the next song. The song opens with an exciting drum beat. In the song, the character is wishing for the love of a woman named Kathy. He is completely mesmerized by her and dreams of her love.
“Spelling all our names (the stars)”. This song is upbeat right from the stars, with its electric guitar and drum sound, you’re already engaged. The character in the song lives vicariously through the stars. He imagines what they do and feels like they are spelling out his name. The musical aspect of this song is hard to ignore. Through the arrangements of the instruments, listeners get the full fantasy
The sixth song on the album is “That’s a Lie”. The song opens up with a slow beat and electric guitar riff. In the song, the persona catches someone in a lie and then asks him if he’s seen certain changes as well. These rhetorical questions are just a nice way of calling someone a liar. The tempo of the song changes as time goes on and takes listeners on a beautiful sonic journey
“Chocolate Rain (Summer Love)” is the title of the next song. The song features nice guitar riffs that are very captivating. The character in the song has found his partner. According to the song, they met during the summer and now, this girl will forever be his summer love.
“Shoewwss!!” This is the title of the next song. This song is very funny and lighthearted especially how the persona in the song really really wants shoes. I appreciate the artist for putting a lighthearted and easy song in this album to make listeners feel at ease and be excited for the rest of the album
“Everyone S***t (interlude)” is the next song on the record. It opens with a crazy bass That is so smooth. This bass will just catch your attention and keep your mind and ears laser-focused on the song
Up next is “ all souls go to heaven”. The song opens with An ethereal sound that gives you this feeling that is like soaring in the sky and on the clouds. This song is the embodiment of the saying “That’s music to my ears” because it is literally music to our ears
The eleventh song is called “Who Want to Be Unknown”. The song features a beautiful guitar opening. The character in the song is in despair. He thinks that when he is old, he will admit to himself that he doesn’t know anything or didn’t do anything for himself. The song is bleak but the instrumentation is so gorgeous that you will want to be in it forever
The last song on the album is “We Are Rock Ba Bob (Sorry Pilgrim)”. The song opens with a countdown featuring some voices speaking and then a clanging sound. In the end, a female voice says “That’s the end” the befitting end of the album.
The lively sound and lyrical lyrics emphasize the project’s ethos: finding self-acceptance among the craziness of life. Nate Bradshaw encourages listeners to enjoy the journey, no matter how difficult it may be, in Tagonist. Nate is a superstar and I can’t wait to hear more music from him
