Greetings dearest gentle readers and music lovers. Let’s welcome German artist KMALECTRO to our digital space. On 17th April, this artist released a song and video called “Hola”. Let’s talk more about this song and it’s video. The song opens with a super captivating melody and adlibs of “HOLA”
The inspiration for this song originated from a personal event in the artist’s life . Someone in his life, someone he cares passionately about, was battling to accept certain aspects of themselves. This internal conflict affected him severely. The song functions as both a response and a mirror. In this scenario, the metaphor of ‘parts work’ applies: learning to reconcile with all elements of oneself, including those we try to hide. That is where healing begins. That is how peace occurs. So, the video seems to be in some sort of cyber post-apocalyptic world where the artist is a robot. After we see the artist we see a young woman in a yellow jacket walking towards some rubble and an abandoned place. At the place in ruins, the young woman sees a yellow robot which is broken. After shots of the artist, listeners can see that she took this robot back to her workshop and fixed it. This robot who has been mended, then becomes her companion, somehow healing herself by healing/fixing the robot
KMALECTRO created, produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered this song all on his own. The goal was obvious from the start, and while he played the majority of the instruments, he believes it’s vital to note that music never happens in isolation. He collaborated with artists who inspired him, and the same is true here. The identity of the vocalist is purposefully left open. It’s a modest yet profound emotional statement. The music, which combines Latin-inspired beats with introspective melodies and a message of inner healing, addresses the gentle transformation that comes from finding peace with yourself. It’s sonically rich yet sparse, rhythmic but reflective—not your standard pop-latin track. Think Rosalía meets James Blake, with a hint of The Cure’s melancholy. To the artist, It doesn’t matter who stands in front; it’s about the story. He did not want to be a projection surface; instead, he wanted to create space. What counts is the song and how it affects people, not who is on the cover, a sentiment that deserves applause
The musician, who grew up between cultures, blends emotive storytelling with a worldwide sound. The song was created in the studio around a spontaneous bassline; the rest came naturally, giving the production an organic and intimate feel. Perfect for editorial playlists that include alt-Latin, global relaxation, introspective pop, and soul-infused electronica. KMALECTRO is a superstar who is on the rise and he’s going straight to the top
