Kubota, a musician, and producer Kingsford are working on their second album, Thank You.
Kubota and Kingsford previously collaborated on the film Sequel, which was released in 2021. “I’m extremely excited to exhibit something a little different than what I typically compose,” Kubota says. “We have a lot of exciting things planned, and this song is only the beginning.”
“Thank You” deals with the issue of heartbreak, and while there is no shortage of music that deals with the subject, Kubota takes a more optimistic and cheerful approach. Thank You teaches listeners how to appreciate experiences and relationships even after they’ve ended, rather of becoming bitter and angry. It serves as a reminder, based on personal experience, that not all relationships must end in bitterness and resentment.
