In addition to the three hits that were published over the previous 14 months, the new album includes nine entirely new songs. The album released on 25th July, includes twelve original, catchy songs on the album about his life, love, fears, and future. Songs with a country vibe, funky pop, rock, and ballads are all included in this multi-faced album, now let’s talk more about it
The album’s opening track is “Cool Down”. The opening of the song might suggest that it is a rock song but it also feels a little country. The song talks about how everything in the world might seem fast we need to keep our cool no matter what(” Let cool down, bring back”). The song encourages listeners to not feel overwhelmed by the fast-paced nature of life. It encourages listeners to take a much-needed break as well ( “Before we boil over let’s slow down”). The song has many instruments in it but the electric guitar is at the forefront and coupled with the vocal performance we have a seamlessly fantastic bop on our hands. The song is the perfect opener to this amazing album
“Where the Volcano is Awake” is the next song on the album. This song had an instrumental that is quite subdued as its opener. In the song, the persona has decided to stop sulking and see life as what it is, which is a place full of untapped and playground of possibilities (”I’m embracing this world full of passion and fire where the volcano’s awake”). There is an electric guitar solo and mouth percussion(”la la la”) that is extremely powerful and will exhilarate you
Next is the song “One Life”. This song starts with a very slow and delicate guitar and drum beat. The song tells the story of a persona who wants a life he can spend with his beloved instead of living life without her and alone (”the world’s on fire now”) (”I want to be with you, I need one life to live together”). This ballad is tender the vocal performance is flawless and the electric guitar solo was so magnificent. This song is emotive and will captivate you from beginning to end
“Go with the tide” is the song that is next up. The song’s intro is this pulsating sound that is dark and mystical. This song is about a character who decides to just let go and go with the flow of where the tide takes him (”I’m drifting away and the sun is shining on my face”). The song captures the spontaneity of the character and his or her impulsive and free-spirited ways. The song has a great vibe and will absolutely delight you
“Liberation Day” is the song that comes next. When the song starts, you are met with a bright and upbeat tempo will will give you such a rush! The song tells listeners to seize the day and live without fear in their lives(”live without fear”). There is an electric solo in this dong that will intoxicate you. This song will be so amazing when it’s performed live!
Next is the song “This is Real to Me”. This is yet another upbeat start. In the song, the character tells his partner that their relationship means a lot to him(” This our love This is real to me”). He goes on to tell her that she makes even the toughest decisions or parts of his life easy and devoid of complication (” But with you, I know which road to take”). The song is a thrilling song and will create beautiful soundscape
Next is the song “Time will tell”. This song was captivating right from the get-go, that electric guitar strum was so electric. The song describes a persona who is deep in love and hopes that one day his feelings for her will be reciprocated (”maybe in that moment time will tell”). There is an electric guitar solo mid-song that will leave you breathless and you will think about this song over and over again and keep it on repeat
“Open your heart” is the next song. The song had quite a groovy beat and its intro. This song tells listeners to break down any walls they have put up to prevent themselves from being hurt and embrace themselves so they can begin to heal from any trauma or anything they have been struggling with (” Open your heart completely then you will know what to wipe out any scars, free your mind completely there is no another way to know who you are completely”). This advisory song is completely beautiful and will thrill you sonically with its masterful instrumentation and vocal performance
Next is the song “Rearrange and start over”. This song slows down the album a bit. This country-infused song tells listeners that it is okay to start over again(”rearrange and start over”). The song is laced with electric guitar sounds and you be singing along to it before you know it because of its catchy lyrics and how relatable it is
“Never Let You Go” is the song up next. This song is a pop song. The song is about a love that is always and forever (” Until you the end of time I have you etched in my mind”). The character assures his beloved that he wants her by his side to spend eternity together with her(”I want you by my side”). The song is initially a pop song with an 80’s vibe but later in the song, there are some drum beats added to it as it morphs into a synth-pop song. This versatile is one you can dance to and just let your troubles slip away
“Not all of us agreed” is the song that is next on the album. This is a synth-pop song with a short intro. The song introduces a persona who is in a relationship and dates her (”I need your love, I want to feel your touch right now”). He is surprised to find out that his beloved is to end the relationship. The song describes the complexities of relationships. This song will take you on an emotive musical journey
The last song on the album is “The Freedom Inside”. This is a country-infused song about. Kappen shares his thoughts and feelings about every bad thing that mankind has caused (”caused by man”). He laments about these things and wishes for a better version of man or hopes that there will be a change in mankind’s behavior (”there has to be a better version of mankind”). This song lets us know the artist a little more and his thoughts and views about the world and life. The song itself is very beautiful with its intricate instrumentation (guitar solo) and gives you an immersive music experience. This fabulous song ends this album
What a beautiful album. The themes it discussed were very cord and important parts of life. Each song had a profound message, perfect instrumentation, and a powerful vocal performance. The song was tender when it needed to be, exciting when it needed to be, and had songs that were perfect to head bang to. Kappen is a genuine artist and it will go a long way in the music industry.
