Greetings dearest gentle readers and music lovers, let’s welcome DJ Steenz to our blog. On 3rd April, she released a five-song EP called “The Morning Star”. “The Morning Star” EP was produced by DJ Steenz. She collaborated virtually with mixing and mastering engineers, such as Kevin Carafa, a fellow Canadian. Let’s talk more about it

“Amaterasu” is the first song on the EP. The song begins with a very nice synth-pop sound that is completely exciting and catchy. This song is very groovy and you can’t stay seated when the song starts. The song illustrates a person who is on the dance floor and makes a connection with someone on the dance floor. During the dance, the persona can tell that her dance partner wants her and feels their connection (“You want me, you feel me”) Forget Coachella, this song is where the vibe is. This song was a nice sneak peek into the EP that we all appreciate

“Lilithia” is the title of the next song. The intro of the song has these Arabic sounds, giving very much Arabian nights. DJ Steenz gives a fantastic vocal performance that sounds so angelic and beautiful. This song was so unique and very exciting and worth listening to

Next up is the goddess of love herself “Aphrodite”. The song opens with an ethereal sound mixed in with a very nice beat. The song is about a character reassuring her lover that she will not hurt him. She acknowledges his past pain and his fear but she promises him true love and comfort like the goddess herself granted to mere mortals(“you’ve been hurting so Iong know you’re afraid”). This was a beautiful song that evoked deep feelings within listeners

Next up is the song “Euphrosyne”. This song also opens with a very fun yet calculated sound that DJ Steenz procured. The song is about a character who is reminding someone that deep inside, they are capable of love and worthy to receive love(“deep inside you know it”). This was a beautiful performance with the artist hitting some very nice falsetto notes. Another bop on this EP!

The fifth and final song on this EP is “Hatshepsut”. The intro of this song is a throbbing synth-pop sound. So for the story in this song, the persona likens herself to a pineapple, saying that she might be rough around the edges but really soft and mushy or in this case very feminine (“Show them the light, take off the mask I’m a woman inside”). This was such a profound song which was also very captivating. The beautiful song closes out the EP

This EP was so much fun to listen to! If you couldn’t go to Coachella for whatever reason, relax because this was even better!!!. Imagine having your own little rave. Aside from its entertaining aspects, it spoke about the different angles, shapes, and forms that love can take. This was an unforgettable experience!, DJ Steenz is standing on business and I can’t wait to hear more music from her
