Greetings to all my esteemed readers and music lovers lets welcome US Mike Di Lorenzo. With five stunning, sensuous, mood-setting ballads featuring Anna Moore’s sensual vocals, Di Lorenzo’s latest EP, SLO’ JAMS, released on 30th August, showcases his skill at grooving with soulful vocalists. His elaborate sonic intricacies, smooth grooves, and dreamy atmosphere make this EP a contemporary ‘Quiet Storm’ joy, even while his hospitable voice takes center stage. Let’s delve into the details of the EP
The opening song is called “Let’s Make Our Love Last (remix)”. This song features Anna Moore. The opening of this song is beyond compare and the saxophone makes you feel like you’re just chilling with a drink in hand at a jazz lounge, sipping and taking in the vibes of the song. The song mentions a character who asks her lover to let the past stay in the past so they can start all over again (” Let’s just take notes from the heart”). The song is sultry and elegant. The saxophone sounds are delightful and you will fall in love with it, this is perfect because it opens the EP so beautiful
“Days Like These” is the next song on the roster. The song starts with heavenly mouth percussions that are just stunning. This song also features Anna Moore. The song talks about having bad days because we can attest to the fact that sometimes no matter what we do, we just have bad days and that’s okay too. On such days all you can wish the day was over. Anna sounds so glorious and age showcases the range of her fantastic voice. This song is just amazing and it will thrill you
Next is the song “It Wasn’t You”. The song features Anna Moore. The song begins in such a majestic and breathtaking. The character in the song has had an epiphany and now sees that both she and her partner were wrong for each other and that their current partner is not the right person (”it wasn’t you”). The instrumentation is perfect and the saxophone solo deserves a standing ovation and an encore because it was just stunning and that combined with the vocals will send you straight to heaven
Next is the song “You Will Always Be a Part of Me”. This song begins with a beautiful choral sound before the talented Anna starts to perform. Now when we talk about soul or blues, this song is what we are talking about. The song is about a character who is letting her now ex that even though they are no longer together he will still be dear to her(“you will always be a part of me”). The melodies, the harmonies, and the rhythm of this song are something that should be studied because of how brilliant it sounds
The last song on the EP is titled “even though it rained today”. The song opens with slow and sultry instrumentation in the beginning. The song tells us that nothing lasts forever and adversity doesn’t last forever, we just have to ride it out and we will be okay (“There isn’t a storm that lasts forever you have to be patient”). The message of the song is clear-cut and easy to follow. The message of the song is a strong pillar of life and is done in such a way that everyone can understand and relate to. This song was the perfect song to end the EP
Wow! What an EP Mike has really proven that he’s worked with big names like Whitney Houston before. The song seems effortless and we also have to thank Anna Moore for leaving her distinct charm on each song. I can’t wait to hear more music from Mike and Anna, as collaborators or artists. They are both so talented and they will make their mark through this wonderful project
