No Comments News

Greetings dearest gentle reader and music lovers, Let’s welcome Carl Liungman. Released on 30th August,” CHANGE” is the third Neoclassical piano album by Swedish pianist and composer Carl Liungman. Liungman’s compositions exhibit a distinct fusion of expressive and lyrical solo piano music that combines New Age ambiances with classical piano mastery. The nine original, deeply personal piano compositions on the album are about loss and new beginnings. The songs stem from the artist’s personal struggles following the death of his aging parents as well as his observations of the world, which is changing rapidly and full of chaos but also love and hope. Similar to Liungman’s album debut, “BORN,” this new album has a classically bright piano sound reminiscent of a Steinway grand piano. Let’s talk more about this album

“Mother” is the first song on the album. The song opens with a perfect piano flourish. The song is bright and magnificent. The melody is simple to follow but don’t be fooled because it has one melody but does not stay the same. You are drawn to the song because of its beauty and sincerity. This wonderful piece of music welcomes you to the album

We move on to the next song which is ” After”. The song begins with a lonely note which stays by itself till the next note is played. The song is very emotive and has a loneliness to it. It’s pure and raw and it captivates you because of its profound nature. You would want to play it over and over again just to sit in the silence and soak in the notes

“Final Days” is the next song on this album. This song has a seriousness and intensity to it. This song is played so intensely and so desperately and Carl plays the notes as if he was playing it for someone he wanted to say goodbye to. If this song was written by him to say goodbye to his father, it was perfect and I know that this song alone will put his father’s spirit at ease. I had to fight back tears when listening to this but I failed because the song reminded me of the people I’ve lost and how I felt during their last days. A big thank you to Carl for this song, and I will cherish it forever

Next is the song “Hope”. This song had an equally emotive intro. Just when I thought I had recovered from the previous song, this song comes along and I get teary again. As the song went on, I felt this release within me because just like the title of the song, I felt hopeful again and I knew that everything was going to be okay. Carl really did well with the song. It was intricate and very soothing to listen to

“Wind in June” is the next song. This song has a very gentle and beautiful intro. This song is delicate and extremely operatic in every single way possible. The sound will wash over you over and over again and will force you to embrace your feelings

Next is the song “Father”. This song is just so sad. Knowing the story behind the song gives this song a whole other meaning. The song touched me so so much and long after the song ended, I was still very much in my feelings. RIP sir, My deepest condolences Carl. You have made your dad proud and thank you so much for sharing this song with us

Next is a song called “Survivor”. The song opens with bright and cheery piano sounds. This song is so uplifting and I am very sure that Carl made this song to tell listeners to not feel like they are victims in any situation but rather call themselves survivors.

“Peaceful” is the next song that is up next. This song embodies its title completely in every way possible. This song is perfect for meditation, yoga, spa days, and even during quiet time. This song was glacial and incredibly majestic

“Change” is the album’s closing track. The song is operatic and glacial, enabling you to fully comprehend the emotions that come with a song of this magnitude. The notes were played with bravery and optimism which just seeps out of the song. This exciting song brings the album to an end

This album was a complete masterpiece. I didn’t fall in love with only the music but with Carl and his vulnerability. Because of this, you can see the soul and emotions that drive these songs. It is a great feat to share your pain and Carl has excelled in it. Not only is music from a very real place, but it soothes and evokes great emotions. Carl knocked this song out of the park. He’s a shining star and he will shine bright like a diamond in the industry
