No Comments News

Greetings to my most cherished readers and music fans worldwide, let’s welcome Yorige to our blog. Yorige is a fascinating duo from London, England, consisting of instrumentalist/producer Nix Bakx and singer-songwriter Aaron Fross. Inspired by artists such as Dead Can Dance, Enya, and Tool, Yorige’s sound explores alternative folk with a contemporary spin. Yorige is a notable group in the music industry thanks to their distinctive style, which combines traditional Baltic folk music with modern elements. Yorige released their additional tracks from the ‘Motina’ EP on August 22. Let’s talk more about these songs

The first song is “pulkun pulkun”. This song opens with these tribal drum sound that keeps you Locked in. The vocal performance is very exciting and raw. The song is a war song Lithuanian military songs are thought in Pulkun. This unique combination of the drum, guitar, and vocal performance is very striking and stunning. You might not understand what they are saying but you would keep listening because of how dramatic and passionate it is. This song is indeed a war cry and a call for battle. Listening to this song just psyched me up and it would do the same for you

The next and last bonus song is called “Palaisiu Pavu”. This song opens with striking but stunning and delicious instrumentation. This gorgeous track is a song on life lessons, the circle of life, and the human experience. The vocal performance is just something straight out of a royalty book because it is regal, commanding, and emotive all at the same time. This song will evoke something in you and will stay with you long after the song has ended

The entire EP and these bonus tracks are a tribute and love letter to folk music in general as well as Lithuanian folk music specifically. The project’s overarching goal was to use traditional folk music to foster its further development. This EP and its songs are the duo’s attempt to make traditional Baltic folk music more approachable to a modern audience while honoring the traditions of the genre. These songs were a valuable experience since I had never come across anything like it. I applaud the duo for sharing their culture with fans and listeners. They are talented and I look forward to hearing more about their culture through their songs
