Greetings dearest gentle readers, Let’s welcome TRONIKAA to our digital space. Tronikaa, pianist Vincent Guibert’s musical endeavor, takes the stage to commemorate the publication of his first album, “Inner Hyperspace,” which was released on June 27. This 9-song album showcases Tronikaa’s style of music which is influenced by science fiction, machinery, and star stories from the 1970s and 1980s. On this album, we have Vincent Guibert as the frontman, Gaetan Demoen on drums, Jeremy Morice, Thomas Braganti on bass, Paul-Alain Fontaine on keyboards, Olivier Bridot on Trumpet, and Laurent Bonnet. Now Let’s talk more about this album in greater detail
“First Steps” is the title of the first song. The song begins with this monotonous synth sound and the sound of typing on a keyboard in the background. As the song continues you hear an array of sounds from whirring, hissing, and footsteps which explains the title. The song represents taking first steps and as they say, a journey of a thousand miles begins with a step, and with that, the song paves the way for the rest of the songs
Next is the song called “Bounds”. The song opens with a lovely techno-pop sound. The electric piano is the star of this particular song and the drum beat further highlights its essence. The song’s melody will make you feel like you’re at the beach on a very beautiful summer’s day, sipping on your favorite cold drink. The song gives you a beautiful mental picture to hang onto
“Zebra 3” is the title of the next song. This song has a soothing and relaxing vibe to it. There are heavy jazz elements, especially the trumpet sounds. Every single instrument you hear in this song is played by top-notch artists. The dedication is felt through the way the sound dances in your ears back and forth
Next is “Golgot 19”. The song opens with energetic electronica sounds. The guitar sounds are the main sound the other sounds build around, creating a beautiful melody that will leave listeners completely breathless due to its awesomeness
The song that follows is called “Camisole”. The song slows down the pace of the album a bit. The keyboard sounds really shine through in the song along with the ethereal stringed instruments that will make you feel as though you’ve died and gone to heaven
“Droid Jam 22” is the title of The next song on the album. The song starts with these robotic sounds, just like the name suggests, you are greeted with these android sounds. the song has a unique rhythm and a cascade of intricate details and tones. The beginning of the song makes you feel like the persona or theme of the song is an android or what an android would sound like if they made music
The next song is called “Phoenix”. The song is opened with someone in the background saying Phoenix, which is followed by a techno-pop mix that reminds me of songs from the 80s. The song is funky with a snazzy vibe that will make you want to dance and the trumpet sounds really elevate the song. I believe this song is a beautiful hybrid since it sounds like 80’s pop music and jazz music(the trumpet solo)at the same time. The song has an inviting vibe and definitely stands out from the rest of The songs
Next is the song “1983”. The song starts with very cool synth-pop sounds. It also has elements of 80’s music that will literally time-jump you Back to the 80’s. The song is a fully immersive experience that uses its musical elements to evoke nostalgia in children of the 80’s and help other people who weren’t born at that time to experience that kind of music that was all the rage back then
The last song on the album is called “Dreadlock Holiday (flared pants version)”. The song is a techno-pop song. The song describes a persona who doesn’t feel seen or who feels that his words do not hold any gravitas whatsoever but lets the other person know that he is accustomed to a certain way of living. The instrumentation is perfect and feels and sounds like a popular 80s song. This fantastic song ends the musical journey
Wow, this album was such a trip! It was everything I expected and more. These professionals clearly take pride in their craft and you can sense that when you listen to the album. Tronikaa has made a glorious piece of music that will never go out of style, I can’t wait to see what he makes next
