The Other performers on this album are studio musicians. Let’s talk more about this album
The album’s title song is called “The best man”. The song has a very commanding guitar strum. The song. The song describes a character who has thrown his hat in the ring for the affection of a lady. He states his qualities to her hoping to win her affection (“I’m gonna treat you right every day and every night”). To solidify his chances with her, he pledges to be the best man she has ever seen(“I aim to be, the best man you’ve ever seen”). This is a soft country rock with a very amazing guitar solo the song is very endearing and will make you fall in love with Brother Chunky not only because of his genuine intent but because of his incredible voice and you can’t wait to hear the rest of the song and the rest of the album
Next is the song” Get thee behind me”. The intro of this song is something that sounds like a flat line till the infectious guitar sounds set in. In the song, the character is rebuking someone, letting the person know that they are not welcome anymore (“get thee behind me, I don’t want you around here no more”). The dress down continues as he tells this person to crawl back to whatever hole they crawled out from. The song is upbeat and distracts you from the seriousness of the song’s lyrics. The song is very energetic with vibrant instrumentation(electric guitar solo) and before long you will find yourself singing along to this bop
“Dig deeper” is the title of the song. This is yet another upbeat song. The song encourages listeners to not let our past define us, and also to look within to see how we really are instead of fooling people with lies(“deep a little deeper now”). This a soft rock song that encourages self-judgment and makes sure that we treat people well. This delightful advisory song will excite you
Next is the song “How many times”. This a country-infused song that will intoxicate you right from the start The song describes a godforsaken place and a member of that society warns prospects who are thinking of staying (“How many times do I have to say this is a forsaken place”). He warns people telling them that he should have left when he got the chance to leave, a decision he regrets most (“I should have been gone when I had the chance”). The song is very enjoyable and will thrill you sonically with its charms and instrumentation
“Communication Blues”. The intro of the song is mid-tempo but will get you hooked instantly. In the song, the persona asks his partner to state her wants and needs to clarify what exactly her plans are for him(“Tell me what you want, show me what you need, I just want to see what your plans are for me”). The character asks his partner to communicate with him since he can’t read her mind. The song is a country song that also has a soft rock side and will take you on one hell of a ride
“My own two eyes” is the next song which pivots the album to a slower side in the beginning but the tempo picks up. The character in the song has gone against his mother’s wishes and gone to a place she asked him not to go(“I’ve seen it for myself with my own two eyes”). There are hints of electric guitar sounds sprinkled in the song and the vocal performance is very exciting. This song will be such a treat to hear live
Next is the song “Fortified and Sanctified”. The song has a slow guitar strum as it begins but it picks up soon after. The character in the song advises people around him to prepare for trouble that is headed their way and tells them he is secure because he has the Lord on his side(“bad times are headed are way, fortified and sanctified, got the Lord on my side”). The lyrics tell a captivating story and let us know a little of the beliefs of the artist and connect more deeply This song will reel listeners in and they will stay to the very end because of the quality of the song
The next song is titled “Natural” The intro is yet another exciting guitar strum. The song describes a character who is asking his lover to take him as he is, he asks her to accept him in his natural state, a state that may or may not appeal to her if she wants him to be her man (“you have to take me as I am”). The song is catchy and very interesting and you will find yourself tapping along to the music because of its infectious structure(guitar solo)and melody
The last song on the album is called “Don’t Care None”. The opening is a strong guitar strum that is very electric. In the song, the character tells off someone, letting the person know that he doesn’t like them at all(“I don’t care none for your kind”. The song is very electric and will magnetize you. (Guitar solo)This was the perfect choice to end the album because it ended the album with a bang!
I enjoyed this album thoroughly. Each song was versatile and had a message in it, some beautiful, some sad, and some funny. The song is appropriate for all ages and for every type of music fan.
