EXPERIENCE SOFIA LAINOVIC’S INNERMOST FEELINGS IN HER DEBUT ALBUM “AUTOPILOT”

No Comments News

Greetings dearest gentle reader, you’re most welcome to our blog. Today we highlight talented artist Sofia Lainovic. Munich-born Sofia is a singer-songwriter who is 24 years old. Her style is a combination of acoustic ballads, jazz, soul, and indie pop mixed with 70s rock. Sofia released her debut album “Autopilot” on 26th July. The 7 song album depicts the delicate balance between taking nothing too seriously and taking everything way too seriously Let’s talk more about the album

The title song is called “Oh, well(Orwell made his prophecy)”. The song gets right to Sofia’s stunning vocal performance. In the song, the persona realizes that he or she lives in a world filled with injustice, unhappiness, and suffering but could not see it before(” We ain’t happy here, and the dystopia will hit me right in the face”). As the persona gets this awakening, he or she decides to embrace it(” I’ll embrace it”). This song encourages listeners to forsake apathy and do something against injustice . The song’s jazz nature is very magnetic and the trumpet and guitar solo is a nice, nice touch to this already amazing song. This song welcomes you to Sofia’s musical journey which is this album

Next is the album’s Namesake “Twisted Reality”. This song has an upbeat intro with a very electrifying guitar strum. The song describes a very self-aware character who knows and acknowledges her insecurities, the fact that others perceive her as a functioning person, and her lack of confidence (”my insecurity is getting the best of me”). As the song progresses, she asks to see herself in the point of view that someone who loves her sees her(”I don’t see what you see in me”), later we find out that she is not just listing her troubles just for the fun of it but rather as a warning to the person who has fallen for her(”emotionally drain you till your numb”). This song leans towards soft rock, especially with the heavy electric guitar sounds and Sofia’s incredible vocal range but before you know it the song shifts into jazz, we get a little falsetto from Sofia, and morphs back into the soft rock. This song is very captivating and you will fall in love with it

“Is she just polite?” is the next song on the album. This song starts with a gentle and soft intro before Sofia begins to sing. The song speaks on the backhanded idea that a woman’s additional task is to be polite, despite all of the attacks, and to interpret everyone’s desires with extreme sensitivity which is highly unfair and frankly inhumane. The song talks about a character who is very laid back and people wonder if she is just laid or polite(” We all know that she is chill, or maybe she’s just polite”). This song shows that Sofia has total control of her voice and with this song, the instruments are a bit muted so her powerful voice really shines through. The song has a finger-snapping sound and heavenly mouth percussions that are very emotive and will thrill you thoroughly

Next is the song “Those 2 Bitches”. The song has a funky bass sound as its foundation. The song is about A character who knows that her boyfriend is cheating on her with two other girls(” What do you do when you know it’s true that you think that your boyfriend doesn’t only love you”). The song makes sure that you know that this accusation of cheating is not a baseless one or a hunch. The song starts with a nice bass sound and has synth sounds within the song. The versatility of this song is very amazing and will enthrall you

“Drowning in the Washing machine”. This song has a slow intro which is very beautiful. The song is about how strange when others like you while you don’t and are proud of you while you fail at the most mundane tasks. It is also a metaphor for depression, loneliness, and the inner struggles of man. Unlike most people in this situation, our character is very brave and asks for help (”I need someone on whom to lean”). The song encourages people to speak up and ask for help when they hit a wall. The song is so tender and delicate and will stir up deep emotions within you

Next is the song called Spiral”. This song opens with some ethereal sounds. The song is made up entirely of intricate and fantastic vocal melodies. The only description I can give this song is the voice of baby birds soaring in the sky on a beautiful and sunny day. The song will take you on a roller coaster of deep and intense musical wonder

The lady song on the album is called “Autopilot”. The song starts with heavenly mouth percussions and fancy guitar strums. The song describes a thriving relationship. As the song evolves we get to know that our characters’ relationship wasn’t always this good, in fact, we learn that the woman pushed her partner aside(”at first I pushed you away”) but he was relentless in his pursuit(”but you came back like gravity”) and then now she depends on him(”I know I could never let you go now”). Her dependence on him might seem toxic or clingy but really the song encourages listeners to never give up on love, a beautiful sentiment I applaud Sofia for sharing. This song marks the end of this incredible musical adventure

The album is a peek into Sofia’s most private thoughts and the scrawled-out pages at the bottom of her diary. The songs on the album are profound, emotional, and meticulously made. The lyrics are very descriptive and there was never a dull moment throughout. The songs will leave you with a long-lasting feeling that lingers on long after the song has ended. I can’t believe that this is her debut album because she knocked this right out the park! I invite you to listen to these songs and you will have it on replay just like I have it on replay now!
