EXPERIENCE JAZZ IN ITS PUREST FORM WITH THE MULTI-TALENTED RJ BACON’S NEW ALBUM “NO NAME LANE”

No Comments News

Greetings dearest gentle readers and music lovers let’s give a warm welcome to RJ Bacon . One of Australia’s top directors of photography, Russell Bacon has worked on several iconic dramas, including Brides of Christ, Police Rescue, Sea Patrol, and Packed to the Rafters. In addition, Russell produced the foreign science fiction series Farscape, which immediately rose to fame as a cult favorite and ratings hit for the US SyFy network. These days, he records and produces jazz that is cool, jazzy, and bluesy out of his tiny home studio. On 23rd August RJ released a 7-song album called “No Name Lane”. Let’s talk more about it

The album’s title track is called “Johnny Beanstalk”. The opening of this song is a sharp operatic piano sound that is mixed with a finger-snapping sound. This intro makes you nostalgic about old espionage and the pink Panther shorts. A guitar sound is added and then you hear the saxophone sound. The melody from there on just sounds like a sweet river of jazz music and you will feel like you’re at a speakeasy, having the time of your life. I appreciated this track and the effect it had on me, reminding me of a simpler time. This song paves a clear road for others to walk through effortlessly

Next is the song titled “Seven Up”. This song also has this snapping-like sound at the beginning but as the song builds it has these cool-toned piano, maraca sounds, and guitar sounds that are very charming and will leave you having a great time just vibing to the majestic fusion of sounds and melodies

“Freeway’ is the next song on the album. The song opens with this choral sound which is mixed with this funky and savvy bass guitar melody. The song itself gives off this relaxed vibe with, a fiery electric guitar solo and if you listen to this song, you don’t need cannabis to get high or feel the rush because this song will give you a healthy high and this is a high that you might be looking for.

Next is the song “Creepin Cat”. This song gives off a jazz vibe right out of the door. This song reminds me of these Tom and Jerry episodes where Tom had to go against these smooth and cool cats. The vibe of this song is similar to the sound played when these cats are on the screen. The song Is Glacial It will delight you

Next is the track” Toff”. The opening for this song is a tad slow and the saxophone melodies just scream Soul music and make you want to eat it up, breathe it in, and make it an extension of you by playing it repeatedly

“Sweep” is the next track on the album. The song opens with this dangerous and steady drum beat. The intro sounds like Phil Collin’s soundtrack for the movie Tazarn called “ Two Worlds, One Family”. When the other instruments are added the song starts to bloom even more and with each layer of instrumentation you are captivated by how good it sounds

“No name, no lane” is the title of the last song on the album. The intro is upbeat and inviting, you will start to tap your feet and before you know it you’ll be dancing alone, with friends, and with your partner. I was really impressed with this song and it transported me to a jazz club, smoking a cigar and drinking whiskey. This immersive song ends the album

Wow, I’ve never wanted to be a flapper dancer in a speakeasy all my life till then. The songs were so delightful and spoke volumes although there were no words. Some of the songs sounded dangerous and mysterious and some were beautiful. RJ is a true artist who still makes music with his all, making sure his artistry does not go to waste. He has proven himself as a genius in other fields and has now decided to make real music. RJ is incredibly talented and I’m looking forward to working with him again
