Bob Marley, the legendary reggae singer, is finally receiving the Hollywood treatment. The biography Bob Marley: One Love, which spans three years in the musician’s life, will make its debut on February 14, 2024. Reggae music is said to have been revolutionised by Marley, who is also accountable for many of the sounds that are still prevalent in the genre today. Marley, a Rastafarian who was born in 1945 in Nine Mile, Jamaica, infused his songs with spiritual themes.

Despite his death at the age of 36, Marley seemingly managed to live several lifetimes in one. Here is everything to know about the upcoming film, from the cast to the release date

Kingsley Ben-Adir stars as Bob Marley. His other film credits include One Night in Miami and Barbie, and he’s also had roles in the TV shows High Fidelity, Vera and Peaky Blinders. Ben-Adir’s casting was announced in February 2022.

The story of our father Bob Marley deserves to be represented in a biopic theatrical release coming in 2024.” “You’ve heard the song and believe you know the man, but do you truly know the experiences and turning points in his life that made him who he is today? .. You will be able to observe for the first time what it was like to be in the presence of the legend in this film, as well as his suffering, joy, and redemption.”

1976–1978 will be covered in the film. In an interview with Blavity, director Reinaldo Marcus Green stated, “You really need to understand that period of time to understand Bob the man, and what he was going through spiritually and emotionally as a father, as a husband, and as a musician.”
