ESCAPE THROUGH MONRAD’S NEW SINGLE “CAUGHT UP”

No Comments Review

Greetings dearest readers and music fans worldwide. Let’s give a warm welcome to Belgian artist Monrad. Monrad is the solo moniker of Matthew Ramon. He was part of a reverb-drenched, instrumental surf punk band for most of his twenties (Rencontrez l’amour- Born of punk and reverb), he only grabbed

back to music when he finally settled in a rural Italian village. Monrad released a song on 18th September called “caught up”. Let’s talk more about the song. The song opens with intriguing piano, drums, and guitar fusion that will snatch your attention right away.

The track is about how Time is slipping by in life. Life changes and moves on but We are caught up in our everyday routine, juggling work, friends, family, and leisure time. It gets to a point where The numbers simply stop adding up at a certain point; they get too much and you feel overwhelmed (”sometimes we dive too deep”), In your overwhelmed state You would want nothing more than to get away from your obligations and go as far away from everything as long as you can. “Caught up” looks for and captures how in that one instant when all you want to do is let go. (” How can we let go always caught up in the here and now, I’m done trying to move on”). Monrad’s voice is deep, has gravitas and it commands you with his voice. The song is deeply poetic and it will captivate you from the beginning right to the end

Monrad’s sound is Loyal to a reverb guitar sound, He had started experimenting with other instruments, different genres, styles, and sounds. Musically, he makes songs that are rock but also sort of a dark mix of surf, spaghetti western, and other influences. This song has a little bit of different genres laced through the songs

This is not just a song, it is a caution tale to warn people to find an outlet for their stress. Although this song talks about how we can become apathetic when we get overwhelmed that is just a last resort. The song was poetic, the lyrics profound and the instrumentation divine. Monrad is very talented and I can’t wait to hear more from him
