Greetings dearest readers and music fans. Today we welcome an Australian artist called Bupkis. On 29th November, he released an 8-song album called “Tarantella”. The Yiddish word “bupkis” implies “nothing” and “nonsense.” Disguised as an emergency treatment for bite sufferers, the tarantella is a fast-paced, enigmatic Italian folk dance. Let’s dive into the details of this album
The title track is “Everything”. The song has an upbeat opening. The character in the song is about a character who has fallen in love. He uses this song to profess his love in a cool and romantic way. The song is the best song that opens the album
Next up is “Javelin”. The drumstick opening is extremely catchy and the guitar melody that follows is just so beautiful. In the song, the character is advising someone to wear his heart on his sleeve and to embrace life even if it’s painful. This song was very heartfelt
“Howitis” is the song that comes up next. The opening of the song is this sweet and dreamy guitar sounds. The song is about a character who feels like he’s the subject of a prank. The vocal performance is very beautiful and it just touches your soul
Up next is the song “So Said”. This song has a very striking intro, the guitar strings are heavy yet the sound is very very soft. There is a guitar solo in this song that will bring you to tears because of the boldness and the way the strings are played
Next is the song “Haystack”. This song has a very exciting intro. This song is a soulful song about summer. The song has these wave sounds that really immerse listeners into the space where the song is about. The song really takes you into the fantasy and its vibes. This song was very breathtaking
“Simulacra” is the next song. The song opens with a guitar and clap-like sound. The song is about a place called Simulacra. Through this song, we learn more about this place and how it works. This song was beautifully sung and the instrumentation was just perfect for the song
The second to last song is called “Do2u”. The song has a mid-tempo beat but not for long. The tempo picks up so fast. Bupkis begins to scat with a heavy trumpet sound, giving it a jazz flair. This is a song full of wonderful surprises that listeners will most definitely enjoy
The last song on the album is “Dominator”. The opening sounds it’s very unique and beautiful. The song seems to be talking about a character who will give anything and also himself to his family and his loved ones(” If I was a king, ill kill myself and give everything to the people I love”). There are some sounds in the song has a sound very familiar to sounds heard in mambo music. This gives the song a very sophisticated feel and vibe. This wonderful song ends the album
The goal of Australian musician Bupkis/Jonathan Blumberg’s record is to escape the ordinary with a fast-paced, upbeat vibe with a slightly enigmatic message and achieve this aim so flawlessly. Hd made a song in a very intentional way so much so that The album’s cover art is a symbol whose significance is inverted because it is an upside-down skull and crossbones. Bupkis is truly a phenomenal artist and he is on His way to the top
