No Comments News

Greetings, kind readers and music enthusiasts! Please welcome to our blog the Australian band DROP JAW JACOBITES. Wave Olevson on vocals, guitars, bass, and Diddley bow, Whamola on percussion, sporadic synths, and electronics Elvis Pikovers on drum programming, electronics, bass, Diddley bow, and guitars; synths. Drum programming, bass, guitars, and occasionally synths and electronics are performed by Vlad the Paler. The band’s ten-song debut album, “Rogue Taxidermy,” was published on June 14th. “Rogue Taxidermy” is more than simply an album; it’s a freakshow that veers between highbrow investigations of sex, death, existential angst, and lysergic cartoon madness. Allow me to elaborate on it for you.

“Sole of Amen” is the album’s first track. The opening of the song sounds like a war cry. When you think you are getting comfortable, the song shifts to a new level that is distinct from the previous one, demonstrating their deep dive into raw passion and intensity. The song gives you an idea of what to expect from the remainder of the album and what awaits you

The song “Phlegm” comes next. The band surprises you at every turn once more as they start this song with these distorted sounds. The performance is a tough nut to break but worth it after you get to its gooey center.

The next song’s title is “Pawn”. You are greeted with the tune with electric guitar riffs. These muffled noises. The song takes you on a journey as the band delves deeply to connect with their primitive selves.

The song that comes next is titled “Ecclesiastes,” (“is a 12-letter word”). There’s something ominous and spooky about the tune. They discuss how they ripped the Bible apart and ingested it in the song. The song is about a character who insults religion directly to religious people. The song is a protest in all forms and will captivate you

Next is a song called “Stream of Coitousness”. The song has a little bit of electronic sounds in the beginning but the sound that follows are these stripped-down guitar strums with someone in the background giving some very nice mouth percussios. The song gives off a country vibe and will delight you sonically

“Pratityasamutpada blues” is the title of the song that follows. The song starts with these amazing mouth percussions. The song is a unique blend of thriving guitar songs but every part of the song jumps out to surprise you

Next, we have the song” Shave ‘em dry” The song jumps right into the vocal performance which talks about a person who is asking his partner to shave a part of his or her body for them. The song seems to suggest that the part that needs shaving seeks to improve an intimate encounter between the two. The melody keeps changing through the song and you will like to hear the entirety of the song

The song is called “palsied moon:”. This song is a change oh the album’s tone and slows it down a bit The song talks about life being just a show. The song is interesting and will thrill you sonically

The name of the song is “Pediculosis pubis”.the intro of this song is very dark and cheery at the same time, there is a particular melody that reminds me of the scabby doo gang walking through a scary mansion. The tempo of the song does change as the song progresses, continuing in the same vein as the rest of the songs

The last song on the album is called “Dirge”. Just like the title suggests this song is gloom come to life. The song is dark and twisted and just the album begins with vigor and energy so does it end

Well if I wasn’t a fan of rock music? I definitely am now 100% percent. The song tackled this album and each song with such intensity, rawness, and depth. It is safe to say that the band worked tirelessly on this genius body of music and they can be at ease because the album was a complete success. It is rare to feel such happiness, vigor, and unity in structure and melody even within a band but DropJaw Jacobites executed this flawlessly. If you’re not a fan, you will be after listening to this album. I welcome you to join me on this exciting musical journey
