Greetings dearest gentle readers and music lovers let’s welcome Netherlands-based artist Disdarken back to our blog. Disdarken is a joint venture between Alan V. Niculae and Nick Carmine and is based in Tilburg, Netherlands. They first ventured into the worlds of LoFi and Synthwave music during the trying COVID-19 pandemic. Their song “Droid,” and “Apart from Part from Darkness were great successes and they are back again with another song called “Alone”. This song was released on 20th March. Let’s talk more about it
When the song starts, don’t be surprised when you hit with this powerful wave of high-energy instrumentation that is so amazing!!!
The song is notable for its understated style and eerie lyrics that explore the depths of depression and broken relationships as a cause of the depression(“sever every human connection”). Themes of isolation are also discussed in this song (“I just want to be alone”)
Disdarken’s distinctive production style distinguishes “Alone” by purposefully achieving a textured, gritty sound reminiscent of sandpaper, guaranteeing listeners an engrossing auditory experience that lingers long after the music stops playing.
This song was very impressive. Firstly, we appreciate the artist for creating a safe space for listeners to process their feelings, and for letting listeners know that it is okay to have these feelings. The artist talked about this issue of mental health in a lighthearted manner so listeners can feel at ease. This was a fantastic song and I can’t wait to hear more and more of his music
