Chandra Nair is the frontman of the Chandra band, which also features Chris Wong on bass, Keith Jones on drums, and Rock Cheung on guitar. The band’s music (Lifted and I’ll be There and their debut EP Lifted) has had a positive impact on me and she’d more light on life and how to make it better. The band has come yet again bearing gifts like Santa Claus in the form of a new song called “Christmas hugs”. The song was released on 22nd November. Let’s talk more about this song

The song begins with the melody of the beloved Christmas song “Joy to the World” before the electric guitar sound sets in

The theme, lyrics, title, and even the cover art of the song screams Christmas and it’s so exciting

The song is about a person who can’t wait to go into full Christmas mode (“Can’t wait to get home and get my Christmas on”). We are talking about baking, decorating, and spending time with family. All these Christmas traditions aside, the song is about a persona who wants to share the Christmas spirit and Christmas hugs (“I’m giving out Christmas hugs for free”)

The song has an explosive instrumentation. There’s even a part of the song where the sound shifts to the melody of another Christmas favorite “o come all ye faithful”. We can’t talk about this song without mentioning the guitar solo, the little girl saying Merry Christmas and the little bells that jingle. Basically, this song maintains it’s Christmas sound throughout the song

It’s always fun to review the work of an artist you love. Chandra has never fallen short and has never failed me. Each and every one of their singles stays true to the message the band wishes to share. I’m familiar with their work and know that they produce songs that support tolerance and equality and inspire listeners to never give up, remain resilient, and provide a helping hand to those around them. This song is no exception and whether you love Christmas or whether you’re a Grinch, you will fall in love with this song and this band. Can’t wait to hear more music from them because when it comes to them, it’s never enough because we want more and more of their music
