American actor Caleb Reginald McLaughlin was born on October 13, 2001. His role as Lucas Sinclair in the Netflix series Stranger Things helped him become well-known. After landing a few modest TV parts, McLaughlin started his career as Young Simba in the Broadway musical The Lion King. Following his success on Stranger Things, he starred in his debut feature picture, Concrete Cowboy (2020), and in the 2019 film High Flying Bird. His credits also include multiple voice acting appearances on television and the 2017 miniseries The New Edition Story.

EARLY AND EDUCATION

On October 13, 2001, McLaughlin was born in Carmel, New York.April and Corey McLaughlin were his parents when he was born. After attending Kent Primary School, he spent a year at George Fischer Middle School. He attended the Seven Star School of Performing Arts in Brewster Hill, New York, for a year after studying dance for a year at Happy Feet Dance School in Carmel, New York. After that, he trained with former Lion King producer Aubrey Lynch at The Harlem School of the Arts.

CAREER

When McLaughlin was a young he made his stage debut in the Glimmerglass Opera House production of Lost in the Stars in Cooperstown, New York. From 2012 to 2014, he starred in The Lion King musical on Broadway as Young Simba, his first major role. After that, he appeared in guest appearances on TV shows including Shades of Blue, Unforgettable, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Forever

McLaughlin’s breakthrough performance occurred in 2016 when he played Lucas Sinclair in the popular Netflix series Stranger Things (2016–). He was nominated for the BET YoungStars Award in 2017 and took home the NAACP Image Awards’ Outstanding Performance by a Youth title in 2018.McLaughlin debuted in a feature film in 2020, Concrete Cowboy, costarring Jharrel Jerome and Idris Elba.[7][8] Mixed reviews were given to the film. McLaughlin was named an honoree in the Hollywood and entertainment category of Forbes 30 Under 30 Class of 2021 list in December 2020.
