Iggy Azalea, whose real name is Amethyst Amelia Kelly and who was born on June 7, 1990,is an Australian rapper and model.Two American Music Awards, three Billboard Music Awards, an MTV Video Music Award, a People’s Choice Award, four Teen Choice Awards, and four Grammy Award nominations are just a few of Azalea’s many accomplishments. Azalea is well-known on video sharing websites; her Vevo music videos have garnered over 100 million views, and her YouTube channel has amassed 3.4 billion views.

EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION

Amethyst Amelia Kelly grew raised in Mullumbimby, New South Wales, after being born in Sydney. Her mother Tanya  worked as a hotel and vacation home cleaner, while her father Brendan Kelly painted and created comic books.Set on five hectares (12 acres) of land, Azalea’s father constructed the home by hand using mud bricks.Her siblings are Mathias and Emerald Kelly. As a teenager, her father “made her look at [art],” according to Azalea, and this impact has persisted throughout her life and career. At the age of 14, she started rapping. With two other girls from her neighbourhood, Azalea created a group before pursuing a solo career: “I thought I could be the rapper.”

Azalea left her high school to follow her dream of moving to America. Along with her mother, she cleaned hotel rooms and vacation homes, working and saving her earnings. She says she disliked school and that it simply made her miserable, except for art class. She added that she was teased for her homemade clothes and claimed to have no friends. Just before turning sixteen, in 2006, Azalea visited the United States. She informed her parents that she was going “on a holiday” with a friend, but in the end she made the decision to stay, and she informed them that she would not be returning home soon after.

Since hip hop originated in America, I reasoned that the more connected I was to the music, the happier I would be, feeling as though I was an outsider in my own nation. I was accurate., she recounted. I was thinking to myself, ‘I’m going alone. I’m utterly insane!” She obtained her General Educational Development (GED) upon her arrival in the US, and she lived there for six years without a visa, visiting Australia every three months to renew it. Before receiving a five-year visa in February 2013, Azalea was employed in the US without authorization. Iggy is the name she selected in honour of her dog.2018 saw the approval of Azalea as a permanent resident 

CAREER

She first resided in Miami, Florida, upon her arrival in the country in 2006, and then for a little period of time, she also lived in Houston, Texas. For a few years, Azalea lived and worked in Atlanta, Georgia, where she collaborated with Backbone, a member of the rap group Dungeon Family. She got to know future partners FKi and Natalie Sims during that time.She claimed that because “they thought my raps sucked,” people would laugh at her, but since she had experienced bullying as a child, she was able to brush it off.

Meanwhile, she had met someone from Interscope Records who encouraged her move to Los Angeles during the summer of 2010. She would eventually be managed by Interscope for a short while.

Ignorant Art, a mixtape that Azalea released on September 27, 2011, was her first full-length project. She stated that she created it “with the intent to make people question and redefine old ideals.”

The fourth single from The New Classic, “Fancy,” peaked at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 list on May 28, 2014. Azalea became the fourth solo female rapper to ever reach the top of the Hot 100. Azalea became the only artist since the Beatles to rank at numbers one and two simultaneously with their first two respective Hot 100 entries on the same day as “Problem” rose to number-two on the Hot 100. The Billboard Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs list was topped by “Fancy” as well.

Early in February 2019, Azalea declared that she had finished recording her second studio album, In My Defence. She added that she intended to release it in the upcoming spring. Azalea declared on February 27 that “Sally Walker” will be the album’s lead single. Her previous song “Kream” achieved gold certification on the same day it sold 500,000 copies in the United States.

The End of an Era, Azalea’s third studio album, was revealed in the summer of 2020. Together with Tinashe, Azalea released the first single “Dance Like Nobody’s Watching” on August 20, 2020.After receiving poor reviews, Azalea decided to drop the track from The End of an Era and instead released “Sip It,” a collaboration with Tyga, as the album’s debut single in April 2021.

Azalea started dating American rapper Playboi Carti at the end of 2018.It is said that the couple broke up in December 2019.Azalea revealed she had given birth to a son with Carti in June 2020. She declared in a statement in October that “I’m raising my son alone & I’m not in a relationship.Azalea later disclosed in December that Carti had cheated on her and failed to attend the birth of their son. Afterwards, he declined to sign the birth certificate for their son.
