American actress and singer Amber Patrice Rileywas born on February 15, 1986. She is sometimes referred to by her mononym Riley (stylized in all capitals). Her most well-known role was that of Mercedes Jones in the 2009–2015 Fox comedy-drama series Glee. In addition to being nominated for three Teen Choice Awards, three NAACP Image Awards, and a Grammy Award, she and the rest of the cast received a Screen Actors Guild Award for their work on the show.

EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION

Riley’s mother, Hightower, gave birth to her in Los Angeles County, California. She has two older sisters named Toiya and Ashley.Riley, then 17 years old, tried out for American Idol during its second season, but the producers rejected her application.In 2004, she earned her diploma from La Mirada High School located in La Mirada, California.

CAREER

Riley joined the comedy-drama television series Glee in 2008 and played Mercedes Jones. She was a primary cast member for five of the six seasons, with the exception of the fifth, when she was given a guest star credit.During the course of the series, Riley gave several solo performances, such as “Respect,” “Bust Your Windows,” “Hate on Me,” “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going,” “Beautiful,” “Bridge over Troubled Water,” “I Look to You,” “Ain’t No Way,” “Try a Little Tenderness,” “Spotlight,” “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” and a tribute to Whitney Houston, which she sang three days after her death.

Riley triumphed in the seventeenth season of Dancing with the Stars, an ABC dance competition, in 2013. Derek Hough, the one and only six-time champion of the competition, was paired with her.Riley and Hough scored five perfect scores of thirty, matching the record for the best first-week score of twenty-seven, and only once did they receive a score below eight. She was the first female African American winner of Dancing With the Stars.

Riley competed as ‘Harp’ in season eight of The Masked Singer in the autumn of 2022. She won the season after that. She participated in The Masked Singer UK’s fourth season as “Jellyfish” later in 2023, placing fourth overall. She declared in February 2023 that her debut album would be out later that year.
