Greetings dearest gentle readers and music lovers, let’s welcome US artist Twice Dark back to our blog. Twice Dark came to us with “Time Traveler”, an unforgettable tune. This artist returns to us yet again but this time with an album. The seven-song album called “Telekinetic” was released on 7th March, let’s talk more about this album

The first song is “Night Shifts”. The song opens with a lovely melody that listeners will love. This song is about a character who very much enjoys nightlife (“life starts when the lights go out”). This character lives for the night and nightly activities. This lovely song opens the album beautifully, giving listeners a taste of what’s to come

“Invisible Man” is the second song on the album. The song with a high-energy beat with features bird chirping sounds. Now this song can be understood in two ways, literally and metaphorically. In the literal way, the character in the song is someone who keeps to themselves and tries to make themselves known. In a metaphorical way, this character feels unseen and doesn’t even recognize himself or herself in the mirror, essentially it’s a self-image issue(“Can no one see me anymore”). Musically, the vocal performance and beat are sure to thrill and entertain listeners

Up next is “necromantic”. The song starts with very exciting synth-pop sounds. This song is about a person who goes to the cemetery and sees the ghost of someone very striking (“I saw you in the cemetery floating by your grave”). The ghost most definitely made an impression because the persona did not run away. The vocals were brilliant and the story in the song is very compelling.

“Phoenix” is the title of the next song. The intro of this song is very dramatic and eerie. What comes to mind when you hear Phoenix?, for me it reminds me of the Phoenix in the Harry Potter books and in the live-action Mulan movie. This bird represents resilience and rebirth because, by nature, this bird flames up after death or fatal injuries and is reborn as a baby. The song is a message of hope to let listeners know that we are not trapped in any situation because we can make it out and get a fresh start (“It’s all a dream, you can wake up”). We applaud the artist for these powerful words to live by. Musically, this song was so amazing and unforgettable

The dark pop/goth rock song Time Traveler is about repeatedly committing the same mistakes in life and realizing that you will inevitably return to them. (“ashes to ashes, dust to dust”)The song’s character has come to terms with life’s harsh cycle. (“It seems I have been here before, and I will be here again “) The song’s concept is morbid, but it’s the best! The beat was amazing!

Next is the song “Mind Trap”. The song starts with a countdown before the retro synth-pop sounds. The song highlights the struggle of internal battles(“Darkness is the only thing I see”). It sheds light on how sometimes we are held captive by our own minds, although this may happen, the song reassures listeners that it’s totally normal, and like any other trap, it may take a long but sooner or later, we will get out of this trap. Although the song has a dark allure, the sounds in it are exciting and wildly entertaining and enjoyable

The album closes with “telekinetic”. The song is upbeat right from the start. The song talks about what telekinesis is. This song made me want to pursue this type of power. Like some mutants in the X-Men movies, I too wanted to become one because the song made it sound so cool. This song ended the album in a fun and lighthearted way

The goth rock, synthpop, and electronic album “Telekinetic” used references to extrasensory powers as a metaphor for a range of life events. Twice Dark’s fourth album, Telekinetic, is proof of his immense talent and I can’t wait to hear more music from him.
