Greetings dearest gentle readers and music lovers let’s welcome Finish artist Anthony Rausku. On 28th January, he released a nine-song album called “Life is Perfect for Living”. There are a lot of 90s grunge band inspirations, but there are also a lot of melodies, which is, in my opinion, the most crucial aspect of songwriting. David Bowie, the maestro of melody, is his all-time hero (R.I.P.) and he tries to mirror that in his music style. Let’s talk more about the album
The title track is “Life is Perfect for Living”. The song is very upbeat and high energy right from the start. The song talks about celebrating the highs and lows of life. Mid-song it slows down but picks up right after. This song is very foot tapping and you can’t resist the urge to dance. The song opens the album in grand style
“Evil Eyes (album version)” is the next song. The song opens with an upbeat arrangement of instruments. The character in the song knows that haters are watching him but doesn’t care. He keeps living wild and free(”watching the cars go by and by”). The instrumentation is just amazing, I was just in awe and just living in the moment
Next up is the song called “Inside”. This song opens with operatic violin sounds before the electric guitar and drum set it in. The song talks about how we all have a level of greatness within us. The song is upbeat as well and this song will go so hard when seen live!
Next is the song “ Pancake”. The song is yet another upbeat intro. The song is very high energy and it feels so good and freeing to jump up and down to this amazing song
“Getaway” is the title of the next song. Get ready for the ride of your life with this particular song. The song talks about how what we need is to flee from a certain place so we can regroup so can know the best way forward(”getaway to find a way”). This song is indeed a getaway because I was taken to a whole universe of amazing sounds and beats
Up next is the song “Outstanding”. The song’s intro just blew me away because of how face-melting it is. As the song builds, listeners don’t get bored because listeners are taken to different heights of outstanding instrumentation and powerful vocal performance to back it
“Mistake” is the name of the next song. The song opens with vibrant instrumentation that listeners will be drawn to. The song is a beautiful chaotic level of musicality that is hard to achieve. The instruments are very vibrant and come at you all at once but fear not, once you get in the groove you can all the instruments that were played in the song and it doesn’t sound like noise at all!!
Up next is “Cukoos in the Paradise- remastered”. This song is country rock infused and you hear that from the moment the song starts. Granted, you can’t line dance with this but you can freestyle it and just go with the flow just like I did
The last song on the album is “Nightmare”. This song opens with a mid-tempo beat that is very catchy and has synth sounds in the background. As the song builds, the song gets this retro 80s synth-pop sound. Later in the song, listeners are transported into this amazing soundscape and an unforgettable music trip. This knockout song ends the album.
What an album!! I don’t know the last time I danced and jumped around this much. The sounds were rich, glorious, and incredible. This album has changed me and I will never be the same. I invite you to listen to and experience its greatness. Anthony is a superstar and he knocked this album out of the park
