Greetings dearest gentle readers and music fans worldwide, let’s give a warm welcome to the Canadian band The 315’s. On 10th October, the band released a four-song EP called “No Replacement for Displacement”. Let’s dive into the details of the EP
The first song is titled “Mother Anarchy”. The beginning of the song sounds like a person who was trying to find a particular FM station to listen to but after the static comes this amazing sound. The character in the song brags about how his mother is anarchy. This is a person who likes to stand up to people who might try to stifle them. The song is the ideal blend of rock from the 1970s and a more modern feel. This song is a great illustration of the band’s style and dedication which is all about preserving the rock sound.
Next up is “fuck the fuckers”. The burst of energy that hits you when the song starts is so full and rich and very very powerful. The song is about a character who is frustrated especially about his job and can’t do anything about it so he gets a bear and gives a middle finger to all his problems and because he’s alone he really goes all out with the curse words(“fuck the fuckers). Sometimes certain situations call for profanity and the band gives a real show with the vocal performance and the punk and exciting instrumentation(the guitar sounds are to die for). The song is so good you will find yourself singing along and you might get a couple of people looking at you because of the lyrics you’re singing along to
“The hearse song” is the next song. There is an eerie sound before the instrumentals start. The song is about a dead person and I think it’s a little commentary on grave digging. The song was so colorful and vibrant and I assure you that will be head-banging to this song in no time
The last song on the EP is called “Whisky and Pills”. The song is yet again another pure rock song and you will get hooked immediately after the song starts. The song talks about a miserable person who used to live on whisky and pills. The person doesn’t care about anything because he can’t follow rules and he can’t obey because he is trying to forget someone. The guitar/ drum solo was so amazing!!!! This song would be such a treat when heard live!!!
Wow! What an amazing EP!! This band set out to keep this genre of music alive with this album and they exceeded all expectations. The song will just remind you that you can blow off steam and dance all your troubles away by rocking out. Thanks to the band for reminding us of how awesome rock music is. I implore you to listen to the EP and see for yourself how the band excelled!
